Muscle Testing Clinic
Clinic Cost: $350.00 plus GST per student
Muscle testing is simply a form of measuring or checking the energy levels throughout the different areas and systems in the body. This can be an extremely valuable tool, as disturbances in the energies are the first stage of the disease process. Once we understand this language, we can balance or restore the energy and prevent the disease from occurring. Students will learn how to muscle test with each other and with their horse, how to check certain points on the body, and how to address and balance these points. Students are welcome and encouraged to bring their own horse. No riding is required for this module. Each student will receive a Student Manual, included in cost of the clinic. This clinic is a great tool for horse owners looking to increase their knowledge base and assist their own horse. Certified Therapists will find this module beneficial to their existing practice.
Brenda considers her love of horses as an adventure throughout her lifetime. During her childhood, she spent many hours riding her ponies. 4H, Pony Club and Gymkhana kept her quite busy after school and on the weekends. Following her mother to the race track, provided her with the opportunities to gallop race horses. Upon returning from Japan, where she spent three months training race horses, Brenda finished High School and this time returned to the race track to train race horses along side her mother. At the age of 20-21, Brenda trained her gelding OK Scooters Hope to the 1995 & 1996 National Superior Racing Award, 1996 High Point Award Appaloosa Race Horse and 1996 Alberta Appaloosa Champion Race Horse. Brenda spent several years rehabilitating ex-race horses to go on to careers as English horses and Barrel horses. It was one these horses, Shu Me Royal, that she went on the sucessfully barrel derby and compete with Alberta Barrel Racing Association. The last few years has found Brenda changing disciplines from barrel racing to reining. With her sweet mare, Sheza Shiny Dun It, Brenda is truly enjoying riding again and discovering a new passion. Brenda is proud to be a Graduate of the BC College of Equine Therapy with top honor marks. She has since been continuing her knowledge as a therapist in many modalities for both humans and equines. It is Brenda's passion for horses, therapy and sharing her knowledge with others, that encouraged her to embark on the journey of creating Natural Touch Equine Therapy Program along with her partner, Janelle Lukan.
Janelle Lukan graduated from the B.C. College of Equine Therapy as a Certified Equine Sports Therapist in 2008. She then moved to Saskatoon, Sask. where she established Natural Balance Equine Therapy. Janelle is passionate about helping horses reach their peak performance. Janelle concentrates on a "whole body" approach to wellness and balance. Her focus is on finding and treating the cause, not just the symptom. She uses a combination of modalities tailored to best treat each horse. Every treatment is different based on the needs of each unique patient. Janelle loves helping horse owners learn more about their horse’s health and well-being through hands on teaching. Giving horse owners the information and skills to aid their own horses helps horse owners be much more aware of their horse’s world. Janelle is always seeking out clinics and further education in order to continually grow and develop her skills as an Equine Sports Therapist.
